INTERESTED PLACES TO VISIT INI JOGYA

1. Imogiri - A location of the empire of Mataram Jogja and Solo's grave yard created by soultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo, built in 1632 - 1640. Once in a year, at the month of Suro in Javanese calender, the "cleaning" ritual is held. It is located at 16 km's south east of Jogja.
2. Purawisata - it is an area where the cultural event are held, located near by the center city with the children gournd play, ethnic cafe, resto, cultural event. Ramayan Ballet is performing nightly.
3. Borobudur Temple - The largest Buddhist temple in the world, 40 km's away of north west Jogja, in Magelang, Central Java. Borobudur Temple is built in 800 AD at the time of Syailendra Dinasty.
   • Borobudir is one of the world wonder. It is 2500 km2
4. Prambanan Temple - The largest Hindu temple in South East Asia, located about 20 km's east of Jogja, 40 km's west of Solo It has a main temple shirne of Siva at about 47 meters high. There are scratching Ramayana story in it's relief at the wall of main temples
5. Vredeburg Front - Built in 1975 by Dutch Colonial. It is now used as a museum with Indonesian revolution historical photos in 1949
6. Gedung Agung (State Building) - is the place for the Indonesian President. It is used to be the office of Dutch Resident. Available to visit by tourists with special permission
7. Prawirotaman - it has a lot of cheap hotels and losmens. The rate is stareted from Rp 25,000 - Rp 200,000
8. Pura Paku Alam - It is connected strongly to the history of Jogja Soultanate.
9. Kota Gede - Well know with its Silver smith, making Silver manually

11. Museum Kereta (Horse Carriage Museum) - with some beautiful horse carriage used by soultans.

13. Keraton Jogja Museum - Royal Palace's museum with several items of the heritage from Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono.
14. Affandi Museum - Collection of Affandi's finest artworks (a painter of international fame)

17. Taman Sari Water Castle - it was built in 1757 by Sultan Hamengku Buwono I, it was a place for soultan to tkae holidays, his family, and his friends . Taman Sari was also a place for soultan of Jogja to make spiritual contact with Nyi Roro Kidul (the queen of the south sea) to renew his power rule.
18. Ngasem Traditional Market. All kinds of birds and other animals are sold in this market such as rabbits, monkeys, etc.
19. The Gembira Loka Zoo - 470 species
20. Wedangan - traditional Jogja dish, served with tempe and tofu
21. Kaliurang - hill resort with villas's, bungalow's losmens and some facilities for conferences, meetings, and restaurants as well
22. Wijilan - a famous place to find gudeg (traditional jogja cuisine)
23. Masangin - get thru 2 banyan tree (pohon beringin)
    • means that the enemies soldier would lost thier power when they got thru those banyan tree ont heir way to the sultan palace main yard in the old days.
24. Parangtritis Beach - It has nice black sandy beach
25. Beringharjo Market - A market where collection of batik can be found, such as sarongs, long dress, shorst, and shirts.
26. Purawisat - the most complete recreatinal center in Jogya
